BOOTED!

  • Info File

You wanna know what tracks a particular boot I made is comprised of, or just looking for some sort of description of the track? Click no further my young padawan, cos the full list (in reverse chronological order) is below.....

Get Wild• Get Wild - Just a quickie that seemed like a laugh. I've gotta admit that the cover picture was one of my main motivations for doing this. What can I say; I like that book. Anyway, this is the acapella from Get Busy by Sean Paul (now joining Aaliyah in the illustrious list of artists I've booted more than once) over Wild Thing by Tone Loc (a classic - look it up if you can and try to find his other great track Funky Cold Medina while you're at it).
Dirt Nap• Dirt Nap - Whoosh; this one was easy to do. In fact, it was so easy I reckon any of the rest of you who could be bothered could do it as well. If only you knew how to do it.....

Well fear not, cos your Uncle Seej has written down and taken screenshots of everything that he did while making this track and put it all in his handy-dandy Cool Edit Pro 2 Walkthrough. No more excuses about not knowing how to do these mixes - impress me with what you can do!

Oh, and if you're wanting to copy me on the walkthrough then you'll need the acapella to What's My Name? by DMX and the instrumental to Long Hard Road Out Of Hell by Marilyn Manson.
Bad Dog• Bad Dog - Another swift one, but once again I've tried something a little different; backing vocals. The tune's made of various loops from Down Boy by Holly Valance, the main lyric is from Androgyny by Garbage, and the backing vocals for the chorus are taken from No No No by Destiny's Child. Kinda weird-sounding, but I like it.
F-Bomb 75• F-Bomb 75 - Well, after spending 7 weeks on Bad Ju Ju I spent a whole hour on this. And strangely I like this track more. It all started after I heard that Madonna (or her people) had seeded P2P with dummy tracks prior to the release of her new album that simply contained her saying 'What the f*ck do you think you're doing?' It was obvious that someone would do something silly with the sample, and I just happen to be that someone (though this may well turn into a GYBO challenge....). Also featuring the acapella to F*ck The Pain Away by Peaches and McSleazy's cover of Electricity by OMD. Not suitable for kids or those who're easily offended.
• Bad Ju Ju - A failure, but an interesting failure; 7 weeks (on and off) in the making, and using samples from Joyride by Snot, Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth by The Dandy Warhols, Rattamahatta by Sepultura, New Beginnings by Finch, Slip Slide Meeting by For Love Not Lisa, On Her Majesty's Secret Service by David Arnold/Propellerheads, Like I Love U by Justin Timberlake and Oops, Oh My by Tweet. All that in a 2 minute package. To be perfectly honest, I think I could've done better, but I got totally bored of it.
• Glitch Me The Light - A slightly more sensible application of the glitch skills I picked up while messing with Daphne and Celeste. I didn't wanna put the same drum + bass beats under it that everyone else does with these things, so I left it unadorned. However, I've got an idea or two for how I could take this further, so I might come back and remix my remix at a later date.....
• D and C Evil Glitch Megamix - Daphne and Celeste's greatest hits, plus a whole bunch of glitch. Grant McSleazy says it sounds like I've microwaved them and dipped them in Hell, yet Richie thinks it's the best they've ever sounded. Either way, I'm going straight to Hell for this. Remember me when they're voting for the most evil track of 2003 ;-) . Oh, and thanks to the person who took my joke seriously and donated the source material - normally I'd name-check them (they're a GYBO regular) but they've said they want to remain anonymous. Can't think why....
• Together Again - A duet (that never really existed) between Britney and Justin over the top of the Perfecto instrumental remix of Step Into My World by Hurricane #1. It's the last track on CD 1 of McSleazy's GYBO Album: I Created A Monster. And people seem to like it, so go download (and don't forget to donate to one of the fine charities that we all did this for).
• Proof Of Concept - Anastacia, I'm Outta Love singing the verse, Kosheen, Catch You for the chorus, Chris Isaak, Wicked Game lending guitars and Bjork, Human Behaviour dropping a beat. My most complicated mix so far, albeit a short one - look for me to extend what I've done here in future boots. This is my contribution to the whole 'Are B**tlegs Dead?' debate, and 'nuff said I think.
• Unpleasant Mental Image - The Prodigy, Baby's Got A Temper vs The Thong Song by Sisqo. The unpleasant mental image in question is that of Keith Flint in a thong *shudder*.
• ODB's Got All Saint's Money - Ol' Dirty Bastard (feat Kelis), Baby I Got Ya Money vs All Saints, Pure Shores
• The Prodigy's Guilty of Stabbing Madonna's Frozen Babies - Madonna, Frozen vs The Prodigy, Baby's Got A Temper vs Gravity Kills, Guilty (Juno Reactor Mix) - thanks to all at http://www.mcsleazybootlegs.com for name suggestions, esp seany and magiccornflake who's suggestions I used.
• More Than Ugly - Bubba Sparxx, Ugly vs Aaliyah, More Than A Woman
• Butterfly Again - Aaliyah, Try Again vs Crazy Town, Butterfly
